This work was the product of a class led by Jaume Plensa of public art proposals for the new millennium. My piece was inspired by the history of city gates and read "Life creates Order does not create..." which translates as "Life creates order. Order does not create life," when read in a circle.
The show was exhibited in the John Hancock Tower, courtesy of the Richard Gray Gallery. I talked with members of the press, Chicago city administration, and John Bryan, the chairman of Millennium Park.
It was accompanied by Public Light and Space, an exhibition catalog with an accompanying DVD. I contributed written work, photos, and my video editing abilities to the project.
My work, Portale, was eventually purchased by the office of the president of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as a gift for Mayor Richard Daley.

See the Public Light and Space website for more details, including more samples of my work.
